Upcoming Movies In August/September 2006 In Germany
In addition to the “Spider-Man 3″ trailer I saw some promising trailers of upcoming movies yesterday which have the potencial of “must-see-movies”: “Miami Vice” (Germany: 24.08.2006) See the official (English) website. “Crank” (Germany: 21.09.2006) See the official (English) website. “DOA – Dead Or Alive” (Germany: 28.09.2006) See the official (German) website. … Read entire article »

“Spider -Man 3″: Trailer
“Yeah, Baby!” I happened to see the new “Spider-Man 3″ trailer before the boring “Superman Returns” began, and yes: I was almost jumping up from my seat, not far away from getting a heart attack because I was so excited! “Venom”… need I say more? Official (English) Spider-Man 3 website: www.sonypictures.com/movies/spiderman3/site/ … Read entire article »

“Superman Returns” – Or: Much Ado About Nothing
I have seen “Superman Returns” (German version) yesterday and I was really disappointed. OK, I don’t like Superman anyway, as he doesn’t have an internal conflict with being a superhero, as e.g. Spider-Man does. And even Batman is a far more interesting character – even though (or maybe because) he has no real superpowers. In comparison, Superman is almost invulnerable – except this bloody cryptonite… and his only problem is that he can’t get the woman he wants. Superman has such a flat character. And he only has ONE real enemy (Lex Luther). That’s so boring! It’s a pity, as Bryan Singer created some interesting movies with the “X-Men” trilogy… but superman… well, in my opinion one doesn’t need to see it… it’s not more but a giant marketing hype. … Read entire article »

Funny Noises
My Car makes funny noises when I’m cruising… almost sounds like fingernails scratching on a blackboard. It’s nice what you have to listen to when you tell your friends: “Maybe a cat in the trunk!”, “Maybe you did not notice a pedestrian!”, or best: “Seems to be a Lilliputian in your engine compartment who takes his job very seriously!” I guess one day soon I will have to buy a new one… how I wish I could afford this one… or even better: this one! … Read entire article »

Adblock Plus For Firefox
When you use the Adblock extension for Firefox (which is quite a good extension, don’t get me wrong), sometimes a very bugging advertisment appears in a layer which shows no content and therefore no “close”-button, so you can’t get rid of that damn advertisment to read the content of the website (as happend here). I switched to Adblock Plus, and see: no more bugging advertisement – it’s all gone! … Read entire article »

Fighting Spam In Your WordPress Blog
August 14th, 2006 | View Comments
OK, after I received my first spam comments (see this post), I decided to do something about it. And as I am using worpress 2.0.4, there is a quite simple solution: Sign up for a user account on www.wordpress.com. As soon as you have created an account, you will be sent an eMail with your individual AKISMET API key. You do not need to have a blog created, but… hey, why not? It’s for free! If you have requested a blog on wordpress.com, you can get the API key from the “Edit profile” page if you need it again. Just enable the AKISMET plugin, then go to the AKISMET configuration and type in your API key. That’s all. Now you can see all spam comments that AKISMET has caught under … Read entire article »
