3DMark06: Score Of My Current PC-Configuration

I tested my current PC-Configuration with Futuremark’s 3DMark06 Basic (free limited version, 576 MB), and the results were very, very frustrating… My current configuration: Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 3,00GHz Memory: 1,0 GB RAM Graphics Adapter: ATI Radeon X300 (SE, I suppose) Resolution tested: 1280 x 1024 And these are the (very, very frustrating) results: I am planning to buy a new graphics adapter, and I guess it will be one of the ATI Radeon X1900 series, which have much better results (see the project search site): First example: service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=280412 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 3,00GHz 1536 MB RAM ATI Radeon X1900 (512 MB) 3DMark06 Score: 4.495 Return to Proxycon: 16.602 fps Firefly Forest: 17.333 fps Second example: service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=252195 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 3,00GHz 1536 MB RAM ATI Radeon X1900 (256 MB) 3DMark06 Score: … Read entire article »

Pandora.com: New Backstage Feature

[Special thanks to Tim (I know I was meant with that R.E.M.-Link )!] Pandora.com now offers a new feature from the “Music Genome Project” where you can see some of the attributes they link to a song, e.g. “basic rock song structures” and “a subtle use of vocal harmony” (these are only 2 of many attributes linked to R.E.M.’s “Losing My Religion”). After you have chosen a specific album of a band, the backstage feature will list similar albums from other bands which is a nice feature to get some new inspirations.
