3DMark06: Score Of My Current PC-Configuration
I tested my current PC-Configuration with Futuremark’s 3DMark06 Basic (free limited version, 576 MB), and the results were very, very frustrating… My current configuration: Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 3,00GHz Memory: 1,0 GB RAM Graphics Adapter: ATI Radeon X300 (SE, I suppose) Resolution tested: 1280 x 1024 And these are the (very, very frustrating) results: I am planning to buy a new graphics adapter, and I guess it will be one of the ATI Radeon X1900 series, which have much better results (see the project search site): First example: service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=280412 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 3,00GHz 1536 MB RAM ATI Radeon X1900 (512 MB) 3DMark06 Score: 4.495 Return to Proxycon: 16.602 fps Firefly Forest: 17.333 fps Second example: service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=252195 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 3,00GHz 1536 MB RAM ATI Radeon X1900 (256 MB) 3DMark06 Score: … Read entire article »

Pandora.com: New Backstage Feature
[Special thanks to Tim (I know I was meant with that R.E.M.-Link )!] Pandora.com now offers a new feature from the “Music Genome Project” where you can see some of the attributes they link to a song, e.g. “basic rock song structures” and “a subtle use of vocal harmony” (these are only 2 of many attributes linked to R.E.M.’s “Losing My Religion”). After you have chosen a specific album of a band, the backstage feature will list similar albums from other bands which is a nice feature to get some new inspirations. Official website: www.pandora.com Backstage Feature: www.pandora.com/backstage Check out some of my favorite bands: R.E.M. | Nirvana | Tool | U2 | Bad Religion | Korn | Morcheeba … Read entire article »

Fergie’s First Solo Album “The Dutchess”
Fergie – from the Black Eyed Peas – produced her first solo album “The Dutchess” which I instantly bought without knowing her new single “London Bridge”. I happened to hear that song as background music in a Saturn store and thought I’d give it a try – which I haven’t regretted so far. Nice work, Fergie! (BTW: Nice video, too – check out music.aol.com www.clevver.com) Image: Amazon.com. … Read entire article »

Jason Statham In His New Movie “Crank!”
I saw Jason Statham (not Stratham, guys!) in his new movie “Crank!” on September 23rd in the Cinemaxx in Göttingen, and I must say that I love this guy! I fist saw him in “Snatch”, then in “The One” with Jet Li, and after that he had his two episodes of “The Transporter”, which are my favorite Statham-movies so far (especially Part II where he drives an Audi A8 W12 – way better than the BMW in Part I). His new movie has a lot of action and it never becomes boring. He got an injection with the so-called “Beijing Cocktail”, which slows down his blood circulation and his heartbeat. So the only way for him to survive is to produce a large amount of adrenalin – which ends up … Read entire article »

My Second eBay Auction: Overbid Without Mercy!
Yesterday I tried to buy some rare Bruce Lee magazines at an ebay auction. The first bidding was 29 €, so I thought “OK, go and get it!”. I was aiming for a price around 35 €… well, I can’t tell you how wrong I was: at the near end of the auction, I went to the bidding site of ebay, typed in 35,53 €… and then this damn system tells me that I have to bid at least 98 €! What the f***!?! The magazines were sold for 107 € in the end! … Read entire article »
