I just recently tried the Web Page Analyzer service on websiteoptimization.com to see how long it takes to load my blog - and I was suprised by a) the loading time and b) the size of the loaded objects!

HDR is great…

According to Wikipedia, HDR is “a set of techniques that allows a greater dynamic range of exposures (the range of values between light and dark areas) than normal digital imaging techniques.”

“Picturenaut” seems to be a nice freeware tool to create HDR images yourself.

As I have started jogging a week ago, I was looking for a website that lets you measure distances so that you know how long your jogging route is.

Of course, I thought of Google Maps first - the problem is that you can just choose streets as markers, not each and every point you wish.

Yesterday, I watched Episode #3 of Season 7 (altogether episode #144) of CSI Las Vegas called “Toe Tags“, when - all of a sudden - there was that brilliant song that I had never heard before at that time (it starts from 00:10:40 where Catherine is processing the roses she found in the hotel). Finally, I found the answer via Google.

On Thursday, January 17th, 2008 @ approximately 13:20 local time, my flight from Australia (Melbourne -> Singapore -> Dubai -> Frankfurt) was over when the plane landed safely on German grounds with about half an hour delay.

I was worried I wouldn’t be able to catch my ICE train at 14:42, but everything was easy: I arrived at Göttingen station at 16:45, where my Mum was already waiting for me.

Yesterday evening, I drove to Hannover where I am now sitting at my beloved PC, uploading some pictures of Melbourne. They will be available on my Flickr account - as usual.

It will take a while until all photos of my journey to Australia will be uploaded, so please be patient. I am planning to create a new page about my travel… well, let’s wait and see.

I love Australia - and I am already missing it!!!

• I had to use an Apple MacBook (which I definitely hate as of now!) and
• the internet connection in Australia is awfully slow,

so I could only upload a few pictures.
