Friday The 13th, A Car Crash & Google Translate Part III

Google Translate Part III [1]On Friday, March 13th, 2009, me and my fiancée were on our way to my parents, driving down the Autobahn A7 Hannover in the direction of Kassel, when we had to stop in a traffic jam near the departure to Hildesheim.

Fortunately, we had left a gap for the police and the ambulance (as so-called “Rettungsgasse”) – otherwise, the guy that was coming to a stop right between our car (middle lane) and the others (left lane) would have crashed right into us… seems like he was a little distracted.

SO, PEOPLE, REMEMBER:
ALWAYS LEAVE THAT GAP IF YOU ARE IN A TRAFFIC JAM, EVEN IF SOME PEOPLE TELL YOU NOT TO – IT CAN SAVE YOU FROM BEING SERIOUSLY INJURED – MAYBE IT CAN EVEN SAVE YOUR LIFE!

Here are two links that explain that gap called “Rettungsgasse” (both in German):

I found an article about this accident [4] on the website of the “Hannover Zeitung [5]“. As I wanted my English readers to participate in this, I used the Google Translation Service [6] to translate the German article into English.

You can look at the result on my Flickr site [1].

Well, it seems like Google Translate still needs work… :-)
