Area 34 And A Dental Implant

On Saturday, 5th of July, 2008, I had my scheduled dental implant for my missing tooth “34″ that was extracted last year. Normally, I have no fear of the dentist, but this was something totally new to me, so I was quite excited when I got there.

But what can I say? I feel awesome!

After the dentist anesthetized “Area 34″ in my mouth, I had to wait a little longer, because another operation took place at the same time that seemed to last longer than expected.

When I finally sat on the chair, everything went by pretty quickly: the gingiva was cut open, the first drill, then a depth measurement, an x-ray, a little more drilling, the actual implantation, then a little bone augmentation, gingiva stichting, and a last x-ray to see if everything fit perfectly – which did, as far as I could say.

I did not even have to take a painkiller!

I will now have to wait another quarter of a year until the implant has grown in, and then I will finally have a “34″ again – yippieh!

I had a similar problem a few years ago. I had to get a false tooth implanted in the front of my mouth. It was a painful ordeal that went on for about 6 months because I kept having to go in to get a new tooth when the old one would fall out. If it falls out I will have to have surgery. This is a little scary. I’m glad your procedure went well and pretty painlessly.
