I just recently had to extract some images from Microsoft Word, because they were embedded and I did not have access to the original photos.

I tried to copy them and then insert them into my graphics application - that did not work: “You cannot insert a file!” So I just dragged the pictures with the mouse into the graphics application - where they ended up much too small. Then I noticed that the size of the dragged picture was dependend on the actual zoom rate in Microsoft Word.

“There must be a better solution!”

So I googled and found the solution here (in German):

Just save the document as HTML-file - the pictures will be there in two different versions: one of them is the original size!
