Testing My New Suunto t1 Heart Rate Monitor
Today, I thought I should give my new heart rate monitor (a Suunto t1) a chance to prove its quality - so I took a ride to the Maschsee in Hannover (by car, of course) and tried to jog.
OK, let me explain why I “tried”:
When I started to jog today, I instantly felt that my knees hurt (they did that before already), and also my shins began to ache after a few minutes. Looking at my new Suunto t1, I realized that also my pulse rate was way to high: I wanted to have it in between 60 to 70% of my maximum pulse rate to burn fat - but I was at 176!
That is the reason why I walked the rest of the route which is 6 km altogether - and by walking I mean quick walking - not like a Sunday day trip walk.
These are the results of my heart rate monitor:
Start time: 2:22 PM
Duration: 57 mins
Burnt calories: 574
Average pulse rate: 139
Pulse rate at peak: 176
Time in zone1 (60% - 70% of Max): 16 mins
Time in zone2 (70% - 80% of Max): 33 mins
Time in zone3 (80% - 90% of Max): 6 mins
Time above zone3: 2 mins.
Time below zone1: 0 mins.
Seems like I am still an ABSOLUTE beginner… ![]()
