Home, Sweet Home - Back From Melbourne, Australia
On Thursday, January 17th, 2008 @ approximately 13:20 local time, my flight from Australia (Melbourne -> Singapore -> Dubai -> Frankfurt) was over when the plane landed safely on German grounds with about half an hour delay.
I was worried I wouldn’t be able to catch my ICE train at 14:42, but everything was easy: I arrived at Göttingen station at 16:45, where my Mum was already waiting for me.
Yesterday evening, I drove to Hannover where I am now sitting at my beloved PC, uploading some pictures of Melbourne. They will be available on my Flickr account - as usual.
It will take a while until all photos of my journey to Australia will be uploaded, so please be patient. I am planning to create a new page about my travel… well, let’s wait and see.
I love Australia - and I am already missing it!!!
The post ends here. Wanna leave a response? Have Your Say!

g’day Marco, (yes i’m hamming up the australian bit though i am sitting here at work in my big Akubra hat watching the koalas in the gum trees)
now, i’ve been through all of your crazy photos with Suzan and you are making me laugh especially when you were dressed up like a Mormon holding those big weights in the shop with Daniel! Most importantly though, i’m really sorry i didn’t get to meet you in person while you were over here and i’m just really happy for you and Suzan, and it’s so nice to see her so happy again.
Now the reason you came up (like Suzan doesn’t find a reason to talk about you at least once an hour anyway) was that I was talking about getting web analysis software to track down who was using our website and what bits are used the most and Suzan pipes up and tells me how you are such a computer guru (i.e. computer nerd might be closer to her description) and i thought great i will introduce myself and ask you for your expert opinion….and then we get to your site and start looking at all these photos of street signs (yes Batman avenue) and Suzan showing us all the photos of her that she doesn’t like and her sexy ankles on the beach, and those sunglasses she doesn’t like and all of a sudden i’ve got 5 people hudlling around my computer laughing and looking at all your photos and then i remember, oh yes, we are working because we started talking about web analysis software. and that’s what it’s like working in here. so serious!
anyway i think you should get yourself back over her to Oz after your german summer (coincidently S’s middle name) so that you can come and enjoy some more australian sunshine and live our relaxed way of life, get married (did i mention i love to cry at a good wedding) and live happily ever after!
so what do you think?
Anyway i hope you guys have a great time together over in germany and i think it’s beautiful that you have a countdown to your beloved’s return…soo sweet!! take care of her, she’s high maintenance (as i’m sure you know) and accustomed to good clothing and shoes (good luck keeping that at bay) and i like forward to meeting you in person next time.
hooroo (translates from australian into good bye) and seeya soon,
melanie
p.s. oh and did i mention my husband immigrated from Ireland and knows all about how to get residency and citizenship and i have another friend that is studying law and has practiced as a migration agent so it would be easy to get across, especially with our skills crisis over here and your IT skills
p.p.s. you could come and work for me too and make our website even more fabulous!
p.p.p.s. i’m a just a little concerned with your reference to Suzan as my beloved and your computer as my beloved on the same page but i guess they can both be temperamental machines but don’t tell her i said that!!!

G’day Melanie,
thanks for your nice comment. I will write back to you as soon as I find the time.
Considering your “p.p.p.s.”: If I am not supposed to tell Suzan, you shouldn’t have written it down as a comment on a public website.
Hooroo!
