Somehow, it came to my mind today that I could check if my blog is valid for XHTML Transitional 1.0 - so I had a visit at validator.w3.org.

Yeah, I know, I bet you will still find some errors on my blog there, but believe me: it has been worse!

One big problem was the HTML code that you get from the Flickr badge generator: this code has a lot of errors concerning XHMTL Transitional 1.0 validity. Most of it originates from the table that is created - the “<script>” tag would not be allowed that way etc. You can see the results of the validation as a screenshot on my flickr page. I found a nice article about how to build an XHTML valid flickr badge here.

Well, I guess it’ll take me some time to get this weblog compatible to the W3C standard.

The biggest problem will be code for flash movies that use the “<embed>”-tag which is not compatible with the W3C standard - see this article which is recommended by the W3C.

I also believe that some of the plugins I use might create invalid code - I may have to check that, too.

While looking around on the web for more information on validity, I found two nice helpers:
