About Tagging And Searching
I must admit: today was a very productive “WordPress day” for me:
- Tagging - or: UTW 3.14159265 up and running
After having some issues getting the “Ultimate Tag Warrior” plugin for WordPress up and running on my WP 2.1.3 installation, I finally managed (see this post). Now, all that is left for me to do is… actually… tagging my posts! For this reason, I have erased the newly introduced subcategories for “WordPress Stuff” - I won’t need subcategories if I can use tagging now, right? Well, you might ask “Why categories at all, then?” Well, you might be right with your doubts, but I think it is OK to have one category for instant access and some tags for more detailed information. - Searching - or: How to show the number of search results
I did not quite like the way that search results were displayed on my blog, plus: I also wanted to show the number of results in addition to the search query. The latter is not as easy as it may seem. So I googled - and I found this support topic on wordpress.org while reading a post called WordPress Search on ddhr.org - special thanks to the author! The solution works fine with WP 2.1.3.
I guess I will really enjoy my sleep now - good night!
