Can anyone explain to me why - in Germany - only the gasoline price is shown with three post decimal positions, whereas any other price (like in the supermarket) shows the usual two? And why do they always end on a ‘9′? Does it make any difference at all if I pay 1,36 € or 1,359 €?
OK, one may say that it’s this psychological price threshold marketing whatever thing where one thinks that 1,99 € is much less than 2,00 €. But why with - I repeat - three post decimal positions and only for gasoline?
This has never made sense to me…
