Pirates Of The Carribean – Dead Man’s Chest

I just saw part II of “Pirates Of The Carribean” (original version) – funny, there is no “part II” in the English title like in the German one – instead, it is called “Dead Man’s Chest”… but yet it is a sequel, so one will automatically compare it to the first one.

I think it is a nice movie with some great special effects, but only Johnny Depp makes this movie worth seeing – I love this guy (figuratively)! The way he acts is unbelievable: like in the fist movie, he talks and moves like someone who is kind of drunk as a skunk with a sunstroke in a feminine way. It is a pleasure to watch that – actually, his way of speaking in that movie was the vital reason for me to see the original version. His voice in the German version really sucks.

Bill Nighy also acts greatly as Davy Jones. Funny – I could tell it was him just because of the eyes… OK, the voice was a second help…

And then there is Keira Knightly who really is a beautiful woman (and therefore also a pleasure to watch) – and in addition to that, her accent is really sexy.

The story? Well, it didn’t convince me that much. It seems like a slightly altered version of the first one: the black pearl, dead people, a secret treasure, a rescue, love, a curse, blabla.

I heard that they shot the 3rd part right after they finished the second one, so no wonder there is an open end – and that we will see some of the characters again. But regardless of what the story of the 3rd movie will be like: with Johnny Depp in it, I will also watch that one. Thumbs up, Johnny!
